Have you tried reading a label through a lute rose?

I've never even seen a lute (in person that is). Yes, it would be difficult and I would suspect out of place for sure there.

Here's a simple one, made in Illustrator, with a home made stamp, printed on some heavy paper.
Can I just make a statement on behalf of the "Don't stick a bit of paper in your guitar" party? One of the reasons I like old Martins, they just stamp the model and serial number on the neck block. I don't mind classicals with labels, as long as they are simple plain statements of fact like Michael's or Todd's, but steel strings, no thanks. Just me being grumpy.

Colin
And I'm in the "Don't stick your name on the headstock" party. Though I don't mind this on a steel string.

I've always been tempted to make myself a guitar with no label.

Have y'all seen Francisco Simplicio's labels? Check it out.jfrench39080.8236111111

I`m grumpy like Colin.I just don`t like a piece of paper stuck on a beautiful piece of wood.

Forget the label Todd. Lets see more of that guitar! Looks like a 12 fretter
00 or 0 size right?

Sweet!

Oh and I like Brocks label the bestest...

I really like everyone's labels
Can I add mine too
Its my second guitar, and the first one i didn't feel embarrassed about owning up to..haha
And i just finished it.
So it got a label.

Its a flamenco guitar hence the spanish for a bit of fun.
I like the simplicity of the spanish makers labels.
I did mine on acid free textured art paper.
And i just printed it at home using publisher and a laser printer

Cheers,

Nice label Claire... Oh! And "welcome" to the OLF...

Hey Gary Lee, you're the only guitar builder I know of who has locations in two cities!
